CAUTION: This fireproof mat is not suitable for use on fire pits or stoves that have heating sources that will be in direct contact with the mat’s surface. The fireproof mat should be at least 1 inch from the heat source. Direct contact will negate the mat’s effectiveness.

There are several things to take note of in order to ensure that the mat functions efficiently. First, ensure that the mat is the right size for your fire pit. The fireproof mat will work best on fire pits with circular bases that are at least an inch smaller than the mat’s 24-inch or 36-inch diameter and all four feet of the fire pit’s stand should rest within the mat’s circumference. Also, the fire pit’s bottom should not rest directly on the mat. The mat is designed to reflect radiant heat, not direct heat.
