The Sheepdog-37QD Quick Release Police Lapel Microphone is a rugged, professional, public safety-grade audio accessory, designed with law enforcement officers (LEOs) in mind. Because portable radio communications are critical, the Sheepdog-37QD police mic earpiece is equipped with a Dual-Switch Technology (DST) push to talk. This design utilizes two independent PTT switches to ensure the push-to-talk (PTT) button is engaged no matter where the button is being pressed. The push to talk is rubberized and large enough to allow for use with gloves. The Quick Disconnect (QD) adapter’s “push-pull” design allows for easy attachment and quick release. The wired surveillance microphone can be released from adapter without disconnecting adapter from portable radio or pack set. With wire kit disconnected and adapter still attached to radio, police officers will be able to transmit and receive normally via the radio’s PTT, front panel mic and built-in speaker. No need to remove adapter for officer or agent to utilize normal radio functions. The Sheepdog’s rugged polycarbonate microphone housing is tough and the microphone is directional and noise reducing. Inside the microphone housing is a high-quality electret condenser microphone and noise reducing mic element to produce superior transmit audio. The high output transducer amplifier (speaker) delivers loud and clear audio to the headset earbud. 360-degree rotating metal reinforced clips are located on both the microphone and earphone earbud to conceal wires and secure to the officer’s uniform. Polyurethane jacketed Kevlar reinforced cable with durable strain reliefs provide peace of mind when on the job. IP55 rated to protect against dust and rain. The quick twist acoustic tube assembly allows for a quick release, making it perfect for hygiene and convenience. Earbud can be worn on left or right ear and coiled audio tube can be trimmed to fit user’s needs.
